- Basketball star has taken a minority stake in the Champions League challenging side
- Kevin Durant is believed to have invested millions through an investment fund
- Durant already has a stake in MLS side Philadelphia Union

NBA star Kevin Durant was in France recently as part of the USA team that won basketball gold at the Olympic Games, but he may be back more regularly due to his latest investment.
Durant, 35, has bought a minority stake in reigning French soccer champions Paris St-Germain.
Millions invested
ESPN has reported that Durant has invested several million dollars of his own money in the side, via investment fund Arctos Sports Partners, which acquired a 12.5% stake in PSG in 2023. Qatar Sports Investments holds the remaining 87.5% of the club.
With Durant’s investment, it is hoped that it will help to popularise the PSG name in the US, with the 2025 edition of the Club World Cup being held in the US.
Durant is known to be a big soccer fan and has previously invested in MLS side Philadelphia Union. He is also said to be friends with Nasser Al Khelaifi, the president of PSG and has visited the Parc des Princes, where PSG play, several times and has met the players and head coach Luis Enrique at their training complex.
ESPN further reported that Durant is excited to be involved with PSG and is serious about his investment in the club.
Title holders
PSG won the Ligue Un title last season and has won the competition in 10 of the past 12 seasons. The club has also won the Coupe de France knockout competition seven times in the past decade. However, the club has yet to win the Champions League – the European continental cup. Star players include Marquinhos, Marco Asensio and Ousmane Dembele.
