Back in 2009, Lady Gaga and Beyoncé delighted their collective fans when they released the smash hit, Telephone.

It was the collaboration that we didn’t know we needed – and excitingly, the pair teased a Part 2 to the track at the end of the music video, with the words ‘to be continued’ appearing on the screen.

However, 15 long years have passed since the first song was released, and neither party has hinted at a second part coming any time soon… until now.

In a Q&A chat with her fans this week, Gaga, 38, was asked for “the tea” on Telephone Part 2 – aka, is it happening, or not?!

In response, Gaga laughed, “Somebody get my kettle. The tea on Telephone Part 2 is that there will be…

As her fans screamed, Gaga continued, “But I’m not going to give it all away… you wouldn’t want that anyway!”

She added, “I think you should all call Beyoncé together.”

Lady Gaga fans go wild for news of Telephone Part 2

Of course, social media exploded with news of the second collaboration.

“I genuinely think Telephone is the best and most iconic female duo in pop history… and THEY’RE COMING BACK,” one fan excitedly wrote.

Another added, “Oh wow, Gaga confirming Telephone P2?! Feels like a lost chapter in pop history finally being unlocked. This better be the most dramatic, over-the-top, cinematic sequel everrrrrr.”

Someone else went on, “Finally, I know it’s gonna be amazing like the original, and it’ll probably be just as big, maybe bigger than the original.”

Begging that the duo “bring the same chaos energy as part one”, someone else went on, “This is way too much about Telephone part 2 for it to NOT be imminent. I don’t want to get delusional but she’s spoken more about Telephone part 2 than ever before.”

Even Spotify couldn’t believe the news – and commented, “Not to be dramatic but we’re freaking out.”

Fans notice that Lady Gaga didn’t confirm Beyoncé’s involvement

While most fans were jubilant, others couldn’t help but realize that Bey herself is yet to confirm the news.

“BUT she ain’t say Beyoncé was gonna be on it lol,” sighed one.

Another added, “The way that no one asks Beyoncé for this collab is what really tickles me.”

Someone else joked, “Beyoncé in her wing of her Tadao Ando mansion learning she has to do Telephone Pt. II when she’s already recorded 3 new albums, a new movie, 2 tours, and home furnishings line (Casa Carter) to be released strategically over the next 8 years.”
