- Sabrina Carpenter has been given some words of wisdom by industry icon, Lady Gaga
- The singer called Carpenter ‘strong and vibrant’
- Gaga also showed support for Chappell Roan and Charli XCX
Sabrina Carpenter had an amazing 2024 – and things are continuing in that direction this year.
The singer, 25, has been nominated for six Grammy awards and two Brits.
And while her string of hits has earned her fans from across the globe, it turns out that Carpenter also has a keen supporter in one of the industry’s megastars – Lady Gaga.
In fact, Gaga couldn’t help but sing the praises of Carpenter, and also fellow artists Chappell Roan and Charli XCX, who are all up for Album of the Year at the Grammys, which will be held on Sunday, February 2.
“They’re amazing,” Gaga, 38, said of the musicians. “They’re strong and vibrant and creative and artistic. I think they’re being celebrated because they’re wonderful.”
Although it was clearly a bumper year for all three acts, 13-time Grammy winner Gaga opened up about the advice she would give the younger stars.
“It would be that the whole you matters,” she explained. “Who you are at home is just as valuable as who you are when you’re onstage.
“And no matter what anyone says to you, you can value who you are outside of all of this… I’ve been in this business for years. Being a woman and a product at the same time was really exhausting.”
Lady Gaga shows further support for younger artists

This isn’t the first time Gaga has taken the time to shout out other female artists.
Back in September, she gave a personal shout-out to Roan and Charli XCX, as well as Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift and Kesha.
Getting emotional, Gaga told Vogue, “I mean, I really love them. I go on the internet and, like, cry. And I love Taylor Swift too. And Kesha. I watch it all, and I’m like: Yup. Go! Just Go.”
“I’m not only cheering them on, I want them to know that my heart is in it with them. And I want them all to feel really happy.”
Sabrina Carpenter defends herself against industry critics

Gaga’s words of wisdom may hit home for Carpenter in particular.
The pint-sized pop star defended herself against the harsh words of music mogul Pete Waterman this week – who branded her outfits, lyrics and routines as “offensive”.
“My message has always been clear – if you can’t handle a girl who is confident in her own sexuality, then don’t come to my shows,” she told The Sun.
Adding that women being judged on their appearance “isn’t something new”, Carpenter went on, “Female artists have been shamed forever. In the Noughties it was Rihanna, in the Nineties it was Britney Spears, in the Eighties it was Madonna – and now it’s me.
“It’s essentially saying that female performers should not be able to embrace their sexuality in their lyrics, in the way we dress, in the way we perform.
“It is totally regressive. It’s like those who want to shame don’t make comments when I talk about self-care or body positivity or heartbreak, which are all normal things a 25-year-old goes through. They just want to talk about the sexual side of my performances.”
