- Paul has received criticism for his reply to Garcia’s well wishes
- The pair have been involved in legal action after Paul hit Garcia with a defamation lawsuit
- Paul and his fiancée Nina Agdal announced the birth of their baby girl on Instagram on Sunday (September 29)
It seems Logan Paul can’t escape beefs even in the most wholesome of circumstances. The YouTuber/energy drink overlord/pro-wrestler/boxer somehow got into it with rival Ryan Garcia in the….comments section of a post about his newborn daughter?
Paul and fiancée Nina Agdal celebrated the birth of their daughter, Esmé Agda Paul, on Sunday (September 29) and, amid the deluge of well wishes and congratulations from fans and Paul’s myriad of celebrity friends, was a congrats from Garcia, although it was not a comment that was well received by the Prime owner.
The former WWE United States champion is currently embroiled in legal action against Garcia, having filed a defamation suit against the boxer for telling his millions of followers not to drink Prime because it came with health risks.
Garcia, who has recently been expelled by the World Boxing Council (WBC) after using slurs against black people and muslims on a livestream, is also currently serving a one-year suspension from all boxing after testing positive for performance-enhancing drug ostarine before his most recent fight with Devin Haney. Garcia was also fined $1.1m after taking a plea deal so the case didn’t go to trial.
The 26-year-old commented, “congratulations” on the post, to which Paul swiftly replied, “Prime still suing you for lying but thanks”.
Garcia followed up with a now seemingly deleted reply saying,“I couldn’t care less about your lawsuit, I’m giving a congrats to the birth of your child.”
However, a few people were not enamoured with Paul’s response, with one user commenting, “This says a lot about Logan Paul. He can’t even take a thank you,” and another saying, “behave. You are a parent now.” Another commenter added, “Damn bro, relax. Enjoy your baby.”
Paul’s response is, ultimately, not that surprising, however, given he probably doesn’t want the guy who he believes has spread disinformation about his product in the comments section of a post about the birth of his daughter.
The defamation lawsuit brought against Garcia by Paul states, “Garcia has a history of stirring up controversy to promote his fights and personal brand, including by attacking other high-profile individuals and brands.
“Although Garcia at one time was on good terms with Prime, as Prime grew he decided to embark on a campaign of spreading lies about Prime, its hydration drink and one of Prime’s owners, Logan Paul.”
Knowing how these situations tend to play out, expect this dispute to be coming to a streaming service near you once Garcia’s suspension is over.
