Scarecrow Voice Actor Revealed
The all-time favorite actor- Elijah Wood is back in action and will portray the infamous villain, Scarecrow in Batman: Arkham Shadow. The game is set to be launched on 22 October- and will be available on Meta Quest 3 and 3S and the recent cast reveal is like a delightful Halloween treat for the Gothamites.
The news reached players just a few days before the game’s release, sparking excitement across the whole community. What makes Wood exceptional in the eyes of fans is his renowned acting roles in Hollywood such as Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings.
While he’s no stranger to video game roles, this will be his first experience with motion capture. A YouTube video released by Batman Arkham Videos on 19 October, reveals the actor playing Dr. Jonathan Crane, Scarecrow.
It included a short video clip recorded by Elijah Wood and he shared his interest and willingness pertinent to this role:
“Hello, everyone. Hi, Elijah here.
At long last, I’m able to finally announce that I am playing the role of Dr. Jonathan Crane, Scarecrow in Batman: Arkham Shadow. When Camouflaj initially approached me about joining the cast for this, I was super intrigued.
For a few reasons, I’m a massive Batman fan, both in films, games, and comics, collected the toys when I was young, and I was super intrigued at the notion that this next chapter in the Arkham series would be done entirely in VR.
I had never done performance capture before. I was super excited about that prospect. And then obviously playing such an iconic character was a delicious request.
So listen, I’m very excited to see all of your reactions to this game. I’m excited to experience it and play it. But until then, remember, just like fear, the shadow exists within us all. Be well.”
As much as Elijah is dedicated to his Scarecrow role, fans are equally thrilled to see him in action and prepared to fit in Batman’s shoes to get the first-person gameplay experience and navigate Gotham’s darkest corners firsthand.
