The TikTok banned on January 18 by the U.S. government not only took down the app but also the other gaming apps including Marvel Snap. Although the ban has been lifted from TikTok, the latter one is still unavailable.

Ban Fallout Leaves Marvel Snap Players Frustrated

The ban was enacted under the law, which is meant to protect Americans from applications that are run by foreign adversaries like China. Unfortunately, Marvel Snap is also indirectly linked with a Chinese company, ByteDance, which resulted in the removal of the app from the PlayStore.

Now, with the restoration of TikTok players, the team was expecting the same for the game, but they were left disappointed, puzzled, and frustrated. Marvel Snap shared an X post:

“We’re actively working on getting our service back up in the U.S. and expect everything to be fully restored within the next 12 hours. Thanks for your patience and understanding as we work through this – we appreciate your support as always. Stay tuned; we’ll be back with updates shortly.”

Second Dinner is proactively working to address this issue while being aware of the fact that players are bitterly upset. Many of them mentioned that if they knew this was about to happen, they wouldn’t have spent money on the game; they also demanded a refund.

The company has acknowledged the players’ exasperation; it has reassured players that they’re actively working to resolve the problem and promised compensation for missed daily missions and rewards.

Game Restoration Marks a New Era for Second Dinner

Now, here is the latest update shared via the Second Dinner account on January 2021, stating that the Marvel Snap is back,

“MARVEL SNAP is back online in the U.S. But to make sure this NEVER happens again, we’re working to bring more services in-house and partner with a new publisher. This is the start of a new era for MARVEL SNAP. We know this probably leaves you with even more questions than answers. We appreciate your patience, but in the meantime, enjoy playing MARVEL SNAP. We’ll continue to update with more information as soon as possible!”

This announcement marks a major turning point for the studio, which is planning to cut ties with the publisher to avoid future events like these. Speaking of TitTok, the debate is still ongoing, and former US president Donald Trump has added fuel to the fire by revealing that the ban uplifting is temporary.

While the situation remains uncertain, Marvel Snap fans are at peace that they have got the game back and their money didn’t go to waste.
