Meghan Markle is back on Netflix – and fans of the Duchess of Sussex have gone wild for the series, titled With Love, Meghan.

In the show, viewers are treated to cooking, gardening and hosting tips from Markle, 43, as she invites friends and famous guests to a California estate.

Despite getting largely panned by critics – with Variety calling it “a Montecito ego trip not worth taking” and The Guardian branding it “toe-curlingly unloveable TV” – the eight-part series is still the sixth most-watched show in the UK after its debut on March 4.

Taking to social media, fans of Markle – who married Prince Harry, 40, in 2018 – branded the Duchess’s show as “wholesome, down to earth, unpretentious, fun loving realness”.

“Everything the Royal Family isn’t,” they continued. “Meghan Markle is a natural and shines through. You don’t have to like her to like the show and you don’t have to like the show because you like her. But if you’re b****ing about the show just because it’s Meghan you’re petty and vindictive and thanks for binge-watching it! #WithLoveMeghan.”

Another took a swipe at the critical reviews, and added, “The review from The Guardian about #WithLoveMeghan, was made by a guy who thought she would make revelations about the Royal Family? It’s a lifestyle and cooking show, why are ‘journalists’ in the UK so dumb? If you don’t know what that means, don’t review it.”

Meghan Markle fans brand show ‘a breath of fresh Montecito air’

With so many people jumping onto Netflix to watch the show upon its debut, the streaming service faced difficulties.

“The royalists on Reddit are simultaneously crying that Meghan’s show exists AND that so many people are watching it that the Netflix servers are once again glitching,” commented one fan.

Others admired Markle’s strength – and blasted those who make mean remarks about the mother-of-two.

“I’ll never understand the Meghan Markle hate. Ever,” said one. “Imagine the energy it takes to despise a woman you’ve never met just because YOU are a horrible, hateful t***. Keep winning, Meghan!”

Someone else continued, “What doesn’t break you makes you stronger. It’s watching Meghan thrive against all odds. When you are the most bullied person on earth, diminished by an entire establishment only to come out standing tall, thriving with your loving husband beside you.”

Others called the show an “education”.

“With Love Meghan is truly the carefree and uplifting education I needed!” they swooned. “Watching her do the simplest things so effortlessly is so empowering. What a breath of fresh Montecito air.”

Critics call Meghan Markle ‘insufferable’

However, not all viewers were impressed with Markle’s antics on the show.

“This is literally the most basic, uninspired content I’ve ever seen,” wrote one. “My local grocery store makes better fruit rainbows. It’s not creative, it’s not original, it’s boring and even worse is her insufferable banter. This show is going to suck.”

Someone else agreed, “Making a jar of homemade bath salts, in a large decorative jar, tied with a big pink ribbon, is the preserve of people who are very, very, very, very, very bored.”

Another criticized Markle’s culinary skills – calling her “insufferable”.

“Meghan Markle CANNOT cook,” they said. “Horrific to watch, devoid of taste, no flavours, and zero knowledge of technique. Soaking food in olive oil, over-salting, and flower petal garnishes is not cooking. Do a shot of tequila every time she says elevate or garnish!”
