- Konami is remaking the iconic Metal Gear Solid 3 for a new generation.
- The remake addresses the gap in series familiarity for younger players.
- Fan-favorite Snake Eater was chosen based on strong popular demand.

In an era where some legendary games can also slip away from people’s minds- Konami, the company behind the Metal Gear Solid game series has chosen to revive one of its most demanding installments- Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
Bridging Generations Through MGS
A remake of the 2004 classic – Metal Gear Solid 3, is in development and aims at satisfying not only the OG fans but to bring the interest of the new generation to the series as well.
The major reason that pushed Konami to bring a remake is, that players from the new gen aren’t familiar with the MGS franchise. It is concerning for a company to see a troubling gap. In a recent interview with GamesRadar’s Play magazine Noriaki Okamura said,
“One of the things that sparked us to do the remake, in general, is because we realized that a lot of the newer, younger generation of gamers aren’t familiar with the Metal Gear series anymore. It was our mission, our duty, to kind of continue making sure that the series lives on for future generations. After all, we leave behind much more than just DNA, as Solid Snake would say—but again, who is Solid Snake?”
The Fans’ Favorite Pick
And why Snake Eater? The decision is made based on popular demand, since the release players have constantly ranked Snake Eater as the most exceptional series out of all, thanks to its innovative and compelling gameplay.
Besides this, it falls first in Time Saga’s timeline which makes sense to go with that one. MGS: Snake Eater, released in 2004, introduced players to an immersive stealth action experience.
The story was set in the jungles of the Soviet Union during the Cold War and players stepped in the role of Naked Snake- later known as Big Boss, the narrative was amazingly intriguing to maintain the thrill.
Now the new installment aims to preserve the game’s legacy while introducing new updates. However, as Konami hasn’t mentioned the exact release date, it is expected to launch in the upcoming year.
Meanwhile, players can look into other MGS games to catch up with the new remake.
