A Huge Player in Gaming Industry

In a 2024 Annual Financial Report, Microsoft revealed that the company has made a significant achievement- 20 of its gaming franchises have crossed the $1 billion revenue threshold.

This report highlights the fact that Microsoft’s gaming empire has become mighty. Recently Microsoft bought Renowned gaming companies like ZeniMax Media and Activision Blizzard King and added more franchises- Call of Duty, Candy Crush,  Warcraft, Diablo, Elder Scrolls, Halo, and Gears of War.

This bold move boosted the player base across multiple platforms and continues to do so, leading to the generation of Huge revenue in billions. The company believes that with ABK their growth will be enhanced across mobile, PC, console, and cloud platforms.

As per the report Microsoft is working on grand schemes, along with strengthening its Xbox Game Pass it is also leaning into the cloud gaming innovation, competing with giants like Apple, Meta, and more.

Here are some statements highlighted by Tweak Town from the Financial Report:

We are bringing great games to more people on more devices. With our acquisition of Activision Blizzard King, which closed in October 2023, we’ve added hundreds of millions of players to our ecosystem.

We now have 20 franchises that have generated over $1 billion in lifetime revenue–from Candy Crush, Diablo, and Halo, to Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, and Gears of War.

And with Xbox cloud gaming, we continue to innovate to offer players more ways to experience the games they love- where, when, and how they want.

Finally, we brought four of our fan-favorite titles to Nintendo Switch and Sony PlayStation for the first time, as we continue to extend our content to new platforms

Microsoft has seen a 39% revenue surge this year and aims to increase it more through popular game franchises to draw more players and money across different gaming platforms.
