Mike Myers channeled Dr Evil in a sketch mocking Elon Musk’s latest outburst in Donald Trump’s cabinet meeting this week.

Reports emerged that the meeting involved Musk having a shouting match with Secretary of State Marco Rubio (played by Marcello Hernandez). SNL parodied this in this week’s cold open, depicting a scene in which Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) attempts to act as peacemaker.

Trump told Rubio that his name is now Mark Ruby after proclaiming that English is the official national language of the country.

“But what I don’t accept is Elon having total access to our government,” Rubio said. “Planes are crashing, and he keeps trying to fire air traffic control.”

Trump retorted: “Well, Elon knows a lot about air travel. Okay? He runs Space X, which is doing incredible things in terms of explosions, with regard to rocket debris.”

He later joked about the talking points Musk provided him at the state of the union address. “You know they’re spending $8 million on making mice transgender. Can you believe that? Probably not, because it’s not true, but I said it, and it got a big laugh — and that is addictive.”

“If you’ve got to insult each other, at least make it good”

Myers appeared as Musk towards the end of the sketch.

“I can’t believe this is the guy you’ve given access to the entire government. He’s not an elected official. If you got to insult each other, at least make them good,” Rubio said. “Something like Elon. How do you have 20 kids? But I’ve never seen you with the chick, just dudes named [things like] Donkey Dog, you know?

Myers parodied Dr Evil in voiceover as Musk. “A lot of people seem to really hate me. My Tesla stock is crashing, and my personal net worth just dropped by $100 billion,” he complained.

Trump then began ordering them about. “Marco, get your budget under control. Elon, stay in your lane. You’re not the boss, but I paid you $300 million and that’s why you’re the boss.”

He also portrayed Musk in last week’s cold open, storming into a meeting between Trump and Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy holding a chainsaw.

Myers appeared  as the credits rolled wearing a shirt that read ‘CANADA IS NOT FOR SALE’. This appeared to reference recent comments about Trump wanting to make Canada the “51st state”.

Myers was a cast member on SNL for six seasons from 1989 to 1995. He also appeared during the show’s 50th anniversary special last month.
