- New highly-anticipated animated series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft coming soon
- Series takes place after the events of the Survivor Trilogy of video games
- Hayley Attwell is voicing the titular heroine

Lara Croft is back and ready to reclaim relics once again in a new animated series coming to Netflix later this year.
The streaming service has announced that Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will drop on October 10. Hayley Attwell – who is best known for playing Agent Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – is voicing the legendary heroine.
Plotline revealed
Netflix has also revealed the plotline for the series. It is set just after the events of the Survivor Trilogy of video games – Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider – with Lara leaving her friends behind to go on ever-more perilous solo adventures.
But the explorer has to return home urgently when a dangerous and powerful Chinese artifact is stolen from Croft Manor by a thief with an uncanny personal connection. Lara gives chase – and the pursuit will take her around the world and to forgotten tombs, where she will have to confront her true self and decide what sort of hero she wants to be.
Other cast members announced include Allen Maldonado as Zip and Earl Baylon as Jonah Maiava.
Iconic character
This animated series is the latest outing for Lara Croft, who has been a hugely popular character ever since she made her debut in the first Tomb Raider game in 1996. Since then, the character has appeared in numerous games over multiple platforms and has become one of the most recognisable video game characters ever. Tomb Raider has also been converted into movies over the years, including 2001’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider starring Angela Jolie and 2018’s Tomb Raider, with Alicia Vikander in the title role.
