She’s the Princess of Pop whose short career has already seen her pick up three Grammy awards.

But now are going wild for Olivia Rodrigo’s new song, Obsessed.

In the tune – which appears on the deluxe version of her latest album, GUTS (spilled) – Rodrigo, 21, details how she’s – you guessed it – ‘obsessed’ with her new partner’s ex-girlfriend.

“Cause I know her star sign, I know her blood type, I’ve seen every movie she’s been in – and, oh god, she’s beautiful,” she sings. “And I know you loved her, and I know I’m butthurt. But I can’t help it, no, I can’t help it.”

Rodrigo began dating British actor Louis Partridge, 20, in October last year – and Internet sleuths suspect the track is about actor Sydney Chandler, 28, who Partridge dated for two years until August last year.

Another candidate is actress and model Madelyn Cline, 26, who has been romantically linked to Olivia’s ex, DJ and record producer Zack Bia, 27.

And while many would usually be embarrassed to admit it, the singer’s followers – who call themselves WHAT – are praising the star for saying it’s okay to feel this way.

With the song doing the rounds with lip-syncers on Tik Tok, one fan commented, “Olivia is so relatable it’s scary,” while another replied, “Literally, it feels like she’s got cameras on me.”

“Is this Jolene of this generation?” another fan asked, referencing Dolly Parton’s Grammy-award nominated 1973 track.

Another content creator captioned her video, “Olivia wrote this for the crazy, obsessive, semi-insecure girls,” and others couldn’t help but agree.

“My boyfriend is friends with his ex and this song is always how I feel. And on top of that her name is actually Lacy,” one commented, referencing Rodrigo’s 2021 track from her first album, SOUR.

“She did it for the girlies,” another added.

In the music video for Obsessed, Rodrigo gathering a room full of her partner’s scorned exes, who are wearing pageant sashes with titles like Miss Thought She Was the One and Miss 2 Summers Ago.

This isn’t the first time Rodrigo has referenced another woman in her songs.

In SOUR, the track Lacy details her fixation with another woman. “And I despise my jealous eyes and how hard they fell for you. Yeah, I despise my rotten mind and how much it worships you,” she sings.

While she’s never publicly admitted who the song is about, fans are convinced the tune is about singer and actress Sabrina Carpenter – who was rumored to have been the person Rodrigo’s ex, Joshua Bassett, cheated on her with during their brief relationship in 2020.
