Only Murders In The Building is one of the biggest hits currently available on Hulu.
It charmed audiences with its winning combination of murder mystery, pre-war architecture and the leading trio of co-stars including Martin Short, Steve Martin and Selena Gomez.
They play Broadway director Oliver Putnam, actor Charles Haden-Savage and artist Mabel Mora, respectively. All three unlikely friends are bound together by their neighbourly status and obsession with true-crime podcasts.
Their love starts to imitate life when a body is found in their upmarket building, The Arconia.

Since its 2021 debut, it has gone from strength to strength, upping the intrigue of the many murders in their joint hallways and its number of award nominations.
The series will soon be dropping its fifth season – but what information has its production made public? What clues have they dropped to solve its next mystery?
Here is everything we know about Only Murders In the Building season 5.
When is Only Murders In The Building season 5 released?
The release date is currently unknown, but it’s definitely on the way.
Back in October, the three main cast members confirmed another round was in the works. However, they were slim with the details. “We are coming back for a Season 5, ” Martin said in a video posted at the time.
“We hope you like it,” Gomez added.
Martin concluded that their triumphant return “would be 2025.”
“We don’t have the date. We’ve got to shoot it,” said Gomez.
On 3 March, they announced they were officially in production.

How many episodes will it be?
Like all the previous seasons, it will be 10 episodes. All the other seasons have been released on a weekly basis.

Who is returning to Only Murders In the Building?

Well, it feels safe to assume that Gomez, Short and Martin will all be returning to the crime scene.
There’s a high chance that Meryl Streep, who plays Short’s on-screen girlfriend will be back too. The pair are rumoured to be romantically linked in real life as well.
In addition to this, regulars Eva Longoria, Eugene Levy and Zach Galifianakis are still not official but could also be part of the ensemble.
Previous season 4 stars that could come back include Richard Kind, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, and Richard Kind.
Are there any new additions to the cast?
Tea Leoni has signed on the dotted line to join the latest instalment. This comes after she had already guest-starred in the previous season as a character named Sofia Caccimelio.
What will the plot be?
Season four ended with the main three characters finding their building’s doorman, Lester, covered in blood, implying that he could be next season’s victim.
There was also Leoni’s character Sofia asking our resident detectives to look into the disappearance of her husband Nicky ‘The Neck’ Caccimello.
The show’s creator, John Hoffman, has teased some plot elements.
“I know the killer. I know the story. We are now breaking the fourth episode of season 5, so we have a pretty good handle on it all. There is always a wish to look into a new world, and hopefully with a real New York bent. The show has always been about classic-meets-modern,” he told Variety in October.
Hoffman added that the plot will be a “microcosm” of The Arconia, and its residents will find it a marker of “respect” to bring his killer to justice.
He continued, “Now we have to pay respect by finding out what exactly might have happened to Lester. The old-school nature of all of that piety that you still find in New York, matched up with sort of the modern.”

When will the show end?
Hoffman has been very overt about his desire to do the show for as long as he can get away with.
He told ScreenRant, “I really mean it. This is one of those shows [where] everyone involved in it is so happy doing it – and I know I speak for the trio and everyone else.
“When you have lightning in a bottle in this way, and then there’s this magnetising force of incredible talent who say, ‘Wow, that looks like fun. I would love to be a part of that.'”
