Overwatch 2 is testing a new 6v6 game mode called Overwatch: Classic as part of Season 14, starting around December 17 and the introduction of the new tank hero, Hazard.
The Return of 6v6 Battles
With these updates, the game is leaping back to it’s roots while keeping the content new and engaging for players. The reintroduction of the 6v6 format in allows players to relive the game’s early days moments, offering them a revamped version of classic gameplay.
Overwatch 2 hasn’t let his players miss the nostalgic trips while other installments are also bringing their classic modes back, like Apex and Fortnite. The updated mode will feature adjustments designed to make matches more dynamic.
Abilities are slower—Reinhardt’s Charge and Ramattra’s Barrier takes longer to use again, some old mechanics are back— Zarya’s bubbles work like they used to do in Overwatch 1, and Roadhog got the older version of abilities, Tanks are also over all weaker, Overwatch 2 content creator Spilo, lead gameplay designer Alec Dawson mentioned.
Moreover, supports are stronger —Zenyatta’s Discord Orb works faster, and Ana has now shorter cooldowns for healing and sleeping, Barriers and obstacles don’t last as long, and healing takes longer to begin— Auto-healing now starts after 7 seconds instead of 5.

These changes aim to encourage fast-paced, strategic and balanced gameplay, so that teams may perform well .
Apart from these changes, Blizzard is preparing to add it’s 13th tank hero, Hazard, in December. Bits of information have been revealed pertinent to this character, but as shown in the trailer he seems chaotic in nature.
Players will get an early hands-on trial from November 22–25. This limited-time event is expected to build anticipation for his official release. They can look forward to both— 6v6 battles to recall their best memories and new character.
