- Paul Mescal has revealed he and former co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones are plotting a new project together
- The pair first met when they starred in the 2020 drama, Normal People
- Fans went wild for the news on social media

They both shot to fame in the hit Hulu series, Normal People.
And fans of Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones have been begging the pair to work together ever since.
The friends – who played Connell Waldron and Marianne Sheridan in the 2020 drama, based on the book by Irish novelist Sally Rooney – have previously hinted that they would like to star in another project together.
But in a new interview with Variety, Mescal confirmed that they are still plotting their next move.
Despite his busy upcoming schedule, the actor, 28, revealed, “We’re basically flirting around the idea of what the next thing should look like.”
Of course, fans went wild for Mescal’s comments – as they are still hoping that the pair will mirror Marianne and Connell’s romantic relationship.
“Flirting? Oh I’m SURE,” wrote one via Twitter/X, while another added, “So all I read was ‘Paul Mescal & Daisy Edgar Jones are flirting…’”
“STOP PLAYING WITH ME,” another begged, as someone else said, “‘We’re basically flirting’, girl we know.”
While others noted how the pair’s “chemistry is still off the charts” and that they “should be flirting with the idea of getting together”, others hoped for a more permanent future for the two stars.
“They should have been married like yesterday,” said one, while another added, “They look like they should have had three kids by now.”
“Losing my mind if anyone cares,” someone else simply finished.
Mescal is currently dating singer Gracie Abrams, while Edgar-Jones has been in a relationship with photographer Ben Seed since September last year.
‘Keep the faith!’
This isn’t the first time that Mescal and Edgar-Jones, 26, have discussed working together.
Back in May, the pair apologized for “leading people on” after cryptically posting they had “news to share”.
While most assumed that they would be announcing a second series of Normal People, the pals revealed their surprise was that they would instead be hosting a marathon screening of the first season in order to raise funds for Unicef as well as suicide prevention charity Pieta.
In a joint video on Instagram, Mescal said, “Hello, The news is, and we are incredibly sorry if we led people on, it’s not a season two.”
Edgar-Jones added, “Not yet! There’s still time – keep the faith!”
