Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight has suggested we could see more of Tommy Shelby beyond the upcoming film.

While sometimes beloved TV shows finish their story with a film, Peaky Blinders seems like it’ll be the exception to the rule.
Knight confirmed this in an interview with Times Radio, where he was asked if there would be “plans for more Peaky Blinders beyond” the feature film, which is titled The Immortal Man.
“Well, it’s interesting you should ask that question because the film is coming out and that won’t be the end.” He didn’t specify, however, exactly what form it would take. “It won’t be the end, let me put it that way. I’m not saying none of it.”
When asked about the film’s release date, Knight said: “It’s a bit too soon for that, but you know, you can sort of work out that it will be about a year,” he said. Filming on The Immortal Man wrapped recently.
Who will star in the Peaky Blinders film?
Plenty of the show’s main cast have signed on to be in the movie. Cillian Mruphy is, of course, returning as Tommy Shelby.
“It is gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders,” Murphy said in a statement in June. This one is for the fans.” Murphy is also co-producing the film alongside Knight.
Other actors reprising roles include Paul Anderson, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee and Ian Peck.
Numerous other stars are also said to be involved, including Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth and Barry Keoghan.
Meanwhile, Tom Harper is directing, who also directed numerous episodes of the original show, which ran between 2013 and 2022.
What is the plot of The Immortal Man?
The Immortal Man is set some years after the conclusion of the Peaky Blinders TV series. We last saw the characters in 1933, but the story will pick back up during the years of World War II (which took place between 1939-45).
The movie will focus on the Shelby family’s fortunes during the war period. Knight, talking to Esquire, has also said that the new generation of characters, introduced in season six, were also part of the film – although he didn’t elaborate on their roles.
