- Prince Harry lost his UK security legal challenge on May 2
- And the Duke of Sussex now says he would love to ‘reconcile’ with his family
- Harry revealed that his father, King Charles III, ‘won’t speak’ to him over the conflict surrounding his security

Prince Harry has been at odds with the rest of the British royal family for over half a decade.
Alongside his wife Meghan Markle, the couple – who are parents to Archie, five, and Lilibet, three – relocated to the US in March 2020, in a move which was dubbed by royal watchers as Megxit.
But in an emotional new interview, Harry, 40, has now admitted he would love to bury the hatchet with his loved ones.
After losing his legal challenge over his UK security, the Duke of Sussex revealed that his father, King Charles III, “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff”.
However, Harry continued that he didn’t want to fight anymore, as his father, aged 76, is in his twilight years.
What did Prince Harry say in his interview?

Following the Court of Appeal decision, Harry said, “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point.”
“There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,” he continued, but had now “forgiven” them.
Harry added, “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.”
What was Prince Harry hoping to achieve in the Court of Appeal?

Harry had wanted to overturn changes to his security that were introduced in 2020 as he stepped down as a working royal and moved to the United States.
Saying that he felt “let down”, he described his court defeat as a “good old fashioned establishment stitch up” and blamed the Royal Household for influencing the decision to reduce his security.
Asked whether he had asked the King to intervene in the dispute over security, Harry confirmed, “I never asked him to intervene – I asked him to step out of the way and let the experts do their jobs.”
The prince said his treatment during the process of deciding his security had “uncovered my worst fears”.
Why did the UK royal family fall out?

Although, of course, no one can know for certain why the British royals were at loggerheads, Harry and Markle, 43, made a series of explosive claims once they had departed to the US.
Harry revealed a number of explosive claims in his 2023 autobiography.
These included that his brother, Prince William, had physically attacked him, and how the Prince of Wales had also allegedly branded Markle “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.
And despite reports that the Duchess of Sussex had made her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, cry, Markle cleared up in 2021 that it was actually the Princess of Wales who reduced her to tears, over a disagreement about flower-girl dresses.
She also said she was “silenced” by the royal family and directed to never comment on false reports.
“That was hard to reconcile because it was only once we were married and everything started to really worsen that I came to understand that not only was I not being protected, but that they were willing to lie to protect other members of the family,” Markle said.
“They weren’t willing to tell the truth to protect me and my husband.”
