Ever wanted Robbie Williams at your wedding? A man at a Better Man screening took the bold leap into making it happen at the weekend – and Williams was down for it.

Williams did a Q&A after the screening of his new biopic in New York and the man had a slightly unusual question – or rather, a request.

Blogger Ezra Cubero posted an account of the moment on X/Twitter, writing: “At today’s BETTER MAN Q&A in NYC, Robbie Williams was vulnerable, receptive to the audience’s energy, took time to have a heart to heart with his daughter, and then a man in the audience asked him, as an ordained minister, to officiate a marriage with his fiancé.”

Williams is ordained by Universal Ministries but said the marriage was probably not legally binding.

“By the power vested in me by absolutely nobody — it’s not legally-binding, but it’s legally-binding in your heart and your heart and my heart,” he said as he pronounced the couple husband and wife.

How is Better Man doing at the box office?

The biopic opened in theaters in the US just a couple of weeks after its UK release.

However, its takings for opening weekend aren’t looking too good. Against a budget of $110 million, it only took in $1.1 million in ticket sales from 1,291 locations.

Audiences were instead flocking to films such as Den of Thieves 2: Pantera and other films that had come out before the holidays. These included Mufasa: The Lion King, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Nosferatu and Moana 2.

Williams – who first rose to fame as part of the boyband Take That in the 90s – is not as well known in the US as he is in the UK. In his home country, however, he is an especially beloved figure, to the point where most people would know at least a handful of his songs.

Despite this, Better Man has received plenty of positive reviews.
