Hindenburg Allegations on Roblox
The Hindenburg Research, known for exposing corporate frauds, recently accused Roblox Corporation is artificially showing the increased number of users and their engagement eventually misleading the investors.
This has created a great fuss and put Roblox, one of the popular games, under fire. The allegations arose after Roblox claimed financial struggles despite the rapid increase in players, as both claims contradict each other.
This appears to be a big question mark on its transparency. Roblox has gained popularity over the years and has attracted a large number of users, especially children.
It allows players to interact with others, play games, create their own world for interactive gameplay, and much more. According to the report, Roblox is overstating the active user base by 25% – 45% and engagement hours up to 100%.
It argues further by stating that the game corporation is counting the multiple accounts made by a single individual which fails to represent the unique user in Roblox.
The report also highlights that the average hours mentioned by Roblox: is 2.4, that are 58% higher as compared to other platforms that younger players spend on gaming.
Child Safety Concerns
The Hindenburg also raised concerns about child safety in Roblox. The young users get exposed to the explicit content in the game and it also puts them at risk of exploitation.
Although Roblox has denied all allegations by stating that: “simply misleading.” But the damage seems to be done already as its stock dropped by 4.6%, reflecting investors’ mistrust of Roblox.
