- Taylor Swift has long been rumored to have a cameo in Deadpool and Wolverine
- Deadpool and Wolverine is much anticipated and the only MCU film to be released this year
- Swift is currently part way through her Eras world tour

For many months, pop superstar Taylor Swift has been rumored to be making a cameo appearance in the upcoming Deadpool and Wolverine film, and now these rumors have been addressed.
Resurfaced rumors
The rumors surfaced again earlier this week when a new poster for Deadpool and Wolverine showed the heroes holding hands and wearing friendship bracelets, which have become synonymous with Swift.
But Entertainment Weekly has broken the news that Swift, who is currently touring the world with her Eras show, which has received rave reviews, will not be in the new film.
For months rumors had circulated about Swift joining the MCU. A popular fan theory was that Swift could take on the role of Dazzler, which made sense as she is a singing mutant who can convert sound vibrations into light and energy beams, so a role seemingly suited to the star.
Hints
Then there were other hints. Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool and his wife, Blake Lively are friends with Swift. Likewise, Swift and Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy have a history – he even appeared in the video for Swift’s song ‘All Too Well’. It is also well known that the film will feature a range of cameos from big stars – many of which have yet to be revealed.
Reynolds and Levy too have leaned into the rumors and have pointedly refused to confirm or deny their friend’s involvement in the film whenever the question has come up in interviews recently.
But now, no doubt to the disappointment of Swifties and Deadpool fans alike, Swift will not be making an appearance.
Deadpool and Wolverine hits theaters on July 26.
