After a bumper summer, Sabrina Carpenter has proven her talents encompass all seasons – as her holiday special is proving a hit on Netflix.

Titled A Nonsense Christmas, the pop star, 25, fronts the cabaret style show, which is filled with her own songs, as well as sketches with celebrity guests such as Quinta Brunson and Cara Delevingne.

Carpenter also performed duets with the likes of Chappell Roan, Shania Twain and Tyla in the show.

And her hard work has paid off – as Carpenter celebrated yesterday after peaking at number two in the Netflix ‘most-watched shows’ charts.

‘Drop the live album!’

If the ratings she has received wasn’t enough, fans are calling for the songs to be made available to stream.

While Carpenter put out her Christmas EP Fruitcake in November 2023, her followers are begging her to also release the tracks she performed on the special on Spotify.

Among them is a duet of Wham!’s Last Christmas with Roan; a cover of Donny Hathaway’s This Christmas, performed with South African star Tyla; and a brilliant rendition of Eatha Kitt’s Santa Baby, which Carpenter sang alongside Twain.

“Sabrina, drop the album now!!,” begged one fan via Twitter/X. Another agreed, “Sabrina’s Nonsense Christmas special was so funny! She needs to drop those collabs on streaming now!”

“Just watched a Nonsense Christmas, Sabrina and Chappell singing Last Shristmas together was the best thing I’ve ever seen,” said another.

Someone else raged, “No A Nonsense Christmas soundtrack? I can’t just stream Sabrina and Chapell’s Last Christmas? Let’s move things along…”

‘She’s going down that Mariah Carey route!’

Fans also thought Carpenter was gunning for the title of the Queen of Christmas – a role which, of course, has been held by Mariah Carey for three decades.

The pop star released her hit All I Want for Christmas is You back in 1994, and has fans in stitches when she thaws out for the festive season.

But after watching Carpenter’s special, her followers think she has what it takes to also make a killing each December.

“She’s going down that Mariah Carey route to secure the December streams and I love to see it,” applauded one, as another added, “Sabrina’s royalty cheque every December is now secured.”

“Finished A Nonsense Christmas and I think Sabrina should be allowed to have a Christmas special every year,” concluded someone else.
