Sabrina Carpenter delighted fans this Valentine’s Day by releasing the deluxe version of her album, Short n’ Sweet.

And one of the five new tracks included on the album is a very special collaboration – featuring none other than Dolly Parton.

The pair have put out a rendition of Carpenter’s number one single, Please Please Please.

And while fans went wild for Parton’s vocals, they couldn’t help but notice a very pointed reference Carpenter has made to her ex in the accompanying black and white music video.

Followers of the pint-sized pop star, 25, will know that her then-boyfriend Barry Keoghan starred in the original Please Please Please video.

Wearing a white vest, the Saltburn actor, 32, calls on his girlfriend to bail him out of jail.

But after the pair split in December over rumors Keoghan cheated, Carpenter changed the story’s narrative – as the new video shows her and Parton speeding away in a pick-up truck, with a hooded man in a white vest tied up in the back.

Fans go wild for Sabrina Carpenter’s video

Branding Carpenter “the funniest person ever”, fans took to social media to discuss the video

“Oh Barry… you’re DUST! Imagine cheating on THEE Sabrina Carpenter!” exclaimed one, while another added, “Oh Barry… you messed with the wrong woman!”

Someone else said, “Barry f***ed up hard and Sabrina brought in Dolly to finish the kill. What a queen.”

Others thought the video paid homage to the 2010 track Telephone, a song by Lady Gaga which featured Beyonce.

“This is so Telephone coded – Barry sure fumbled the wrong woman,” wrote one user.

Others begged to see Barry’s reaction, and said, “Why do I feel like Barry is giggling about this?”

While some said it was always necessary to “read the fine print” – as Carpenter’s lyrics warned her ex of the consequences if he embarrassed her.

“She told him not to embarrass her… Oh well, the DIVA that she is,” laughed one.

Parton also shared a video of the pair meeting to celebrate the collaboration.

“Turns out, two things can be short and sweet,” the country legend, 79, captioned the clip with a wink.

Listening to the track in the video, which was posted to Parton’s Instagram, she joked to Carpenter, “We’re like a before and after… you’ll be this old one day.”

The younger singer quipped back, “I know, I can’t wait if I look like you!”

And while Carpenter is no stranger to profanity, Parton made it clear that she would be changing her lyrics if she was to participate.

“You and your dirty words,” she jokingly scolded. “I can’t say those words in front of [the] kids!”
