- Marvel star Johansson confirmed to be in leading role for new Jurassic Park film
- Latest film is separate to the recent Jurassic World trilogy and will have new cast
- Johansson says script for new film is “incredible”

Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson has confirmed that she will have a leading role in the next Jurassic Park film after months of rumors about her involvement.
Excited
Talking to ComicBook.com while advertising her latest film Fly Me To The Moon, Johansson confirmed her involvement in the film.
Johansson had been reported to be in talks to take on a leading role in the next instalment of the Jurassic Park franchise back in March.
Johansson said that she had been tempted back into the world of major franchises – having starred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for many years – because she is a huge fan of the Jurassic Park series. “It’s one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater,” she said. “It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am.”
Fresh roster of characters
The film, currently under the working title of Jurassic Park 4 franchise, is reportedly a reboot, with a fresh roster of characters. The most recent trilogy, which began in 2015 with Jurassic World and concluded in 2022 with Jurassic World Dominion, starred Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and was a continuation from the original trilogy, which ran from 1993-2001. Indeed, stars such as Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neil reprised their roles from the original films.
David Koepp is writing the new film – he wrote the scripts for Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997) and Gareth Edwards (best known for Godzilla) is helming the project. Johansson has said that Koepp’s script is “so incredible” adding that Koepp is “so passionate about it, which is so awesome.”
