Great news for lovers of teddy bears that come to life – season 2 of Ted has wrapped production, according to the show’s creator.

In a post on Instagram, creator and voice of Ted, Seth Macfarlane, said: “Today we wrap production on TED SEASON 2! Thanks to our stellar writers, cast, and crew for all their amazing work on the funniest season yet!”

Well received

Ted aired on Peacock and was well received by critics and viewers alike when it was released in January 2024. A second season of Ted was commissioned in May.

Ted is a prequel series to the films released in 2012 and 2015. Set in the early 1990s, it follows a teenage John Bennett – a younger version of Mark Wahlberg’s character from the films – and his adventures with Ted, voiced by Seth MacFarlane, including going to high school, and the problems that brings with it. Ted, with his no-nonsense attitude, as well as penchant for beer, swearing and daytime TV, tries to navigate his way through life and teach John a little along the way.

When will Ted season 2 be released?

But while production may have wrapped, we still don’t know when the show will be released. Peacock has yet to confirm when the show will drop and it could still be some time. Given Ted is CGI animated, there could be a lengthy post-production phase, so it may still be months or even into early 2026 before season two makes it to air.

Likewise, there have been no hints about what the plotline of the next series will be, other than it continues Ted and teenage John’s adventures.
