- Who is Guard 44 in Squid Game?
- An online rumour suggested it could be a popular streamer
- Kai Cenat addressed the casting in a recent stream

Lots of people online are currently confused about the potential casting of Squid Game Guard 44, with some believing that a popular streamer played the person behind the mask.
Ever since Squid Game season 2 arrived on Netflix on 26 December, fans have been enthralled with director Hwang Dong-Hyuk’s dark and twisted underworld.
For many, it was the arrival of new addition Thanos who grabbed people’s attention. This purple-haired wildcard was played by K-Pop star T.O.P AKA Choi Seung-hyun and instantly became a fan-favourite.

However, now the internet has a new Squid Game fascination. One of the many different TikTok videos focusing on the show’s new cast members appeared to show streamer Kai Cenat among the show’s line-up.
This led many to believe that the internet personality had been cast in the show – and according to TikTok – recruited to play Squid Game Guard 44.
On the surface, this is a fairly reasonable presumption. After all, Squid Game’s guards wear masks, meaning any actor could be lurking underneath and hiding in plain sight.

As the conversation regarding Cenat’s involvement swirled, it didn’t take long for the streamer to chime in with an answer to the question.
Was Kai Cenat in Squid Game?
Responding to the claims that he played Squid Game Guard 44, Cenat initially suggested that the rumors were true. “Wait, I thought I told y’all?” he explained during a recent stream which was subsequently clipped and posted onto TikTok.
“I was Guard #44,” he added before saying that his character didn’t get shot in the series.
Case closed right? Well, not quite.
Fans did a bit of digging and confirmed that – while plenty of numbered guards appear throughout show – there isn’t actually a character named Guard 44 in Squid Game season 2.
This means that Cenat didn’t actually appear as Guard 44 in Squid Game season 2 and was simply joking around or going along with an already-established slice of Internet gossip.
It’s likely that the Google page listing his involvement was edited or Photoshopped.
When is Squid Game season 3 released?

With Squid Game season 2 consisting of just seven episodes, fans are already clamouring to get their mitts on Squid Game season 3.
Thankfully, it looks like we won’t have to wait long before it arrives on Netflix.
