Blake Lively’s returning to the screen soon with a new film and Amazon Studios are evidently stepping up to protect her in the wake of recent controversies.
Lively stars in the new comedy-mystery thriller Another Simple Favor, which will land on Prime Video on 1 May. It is the sequel to the 2018 film A Simple Favor, which also stars Anna Kendrick.
Notably, the studio opted to protect Lively with the decision to turn off comments below the trailer on the YouTube. Lively has already been inundated with online abuse following her current legal battle against It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni.
What’s happened with Lively and Baldoni?

Lively first filed a complaint against Baldoni in December 2024 and his production studio Wayfayer, claiming he launched a smear campaign against her in the press and sexually assaulted her.
In January 2025, Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively, refuting her allegations.
There have since been claims and counter-claims, clips leaked online and more. The various twists and turns in this case have dominated the entertainment news over the past four months, with a similar following on social media.

In response to Lively’s allegations which were reported on by The New York Times, Baldoni sued the outlet for libel for $250 million.
The actress has since alleged that Baldoni made two other actors “uncomfortable” on the set of It Ends With Us. The actors concerned have not been named but Lively has claimed that they are willing to testify in court. An amended claim published in February 2025 contained these allegations.
Lively and Baldoni will face off in court in March 2026.
