Fresh out of the slammer, Taylor Swift, 35, knew who her first call was to: Travis Kelce, 35. The American superstar began dating the football player in 2023. Ever since she began attending the football games, ratings for the NFL have skyrocketed.

Swift has a string of famous exes, Harry Styles, 31, and Jake Gyllenhaal, 44, to name a few. However, Kelce’s relationships have been with lesser-known people. Before Swift, he was in an on-and-off relationship with influencer Kayla Nicole, 33, from 2017 until 2022.
Just before Kelce, Swift was briefly linked to The 1975 lead singer Matty Healy, 36, after splitting from British actor Joe Alwyn, 34, whom she dated for six years.

2023 – The blossoming of romance
In July 2023, Kelce attended The Eras Tour at the Arrowhead Stadium, the same venue where Kelce plays on the Kansas City Chiefs as a tight end. Later that month, Kelce spoke openly about how he tried to give his number to the Karma singer on his podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.
In September, as dating rumors ran rampant, Kelce’s brother was asked about his brother’s budding romance with Swift. Jokingly, he confirmed the two were dating but backtracked.
Later that September, Swift broke the internet when she attended one of Kelce’s games for the first time, and was spotted with him after.
When October came around, Kelce reflected on the media coverage of his relationship with Swift, and his mom Donna even spoke about hanging out with the singer!
The internet broke in October 2023, when one of the girlfriends of the Chiefs players, Chariah Gordon, 30, posted a group photo of her, Mecole Hardman Jr,27, Kelce, and Swift.
The turning point for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
Swifr kissed Kelce on the cheek in one of the photos, seeming to confirm the two were dating.
In late October, sources reported that the relationship was heating up and becoming more serious. The couple spent both New Year’s and Christmas Day together.
Throughout the rest of 2023, the two supported each other at various events and attended a holiday party in December. For Time’s Person of the Year profile, Swift spoke about Kelce for the first time. On her relationship, she said: “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”
2024 – Established romance and songs
January was a good month for the couple. They spent lots of time together, and the Chiefs won the AFC Championship Game. Swift was caught on camera celebrating with her man.
When the Chiefs won the 2024 Super Bowl, Swift was right there and kissed Kelce on camera in a move that looked like the One Tree Hill season four finale.
As the year progressed, the two continued to support each other. At Coachella, they were spotted dancing and embracing amongst the crowd. On 19 April, Swift released her highly anticipated album, The Tortured Poet’s Department, with songs about Kelce. So High School and The Alchemy were speculated by fans to be about him, although Swift did not confirm nor deny this.
An intimate look into Swift and Kelce’s romance
Right after the video for Fortnite was released, Swift shared a rare, intimate look into her life with the song playing in the background. A sweet clip can be seen of Kelce kissing Swift’s cheek while she cooks some food.
Another milestone came in June 2024, when Swift and Kelce went Instagram official. If you can believe it, the 35-year-old, who was famously private in her last relationship, posted a photo of her and Kelce with Prince William and his children.
During her London shows later that month, Kelce joined his girlfriend on stage for a dancing bit during The Tortured Poet’s Department era. Kelce danced and lifted Swift while wearing a tuxedo. Who says couples can’t work together?
Say his name, and she did when she won Video Of The Year at the 2024 Video Music Awards. In a speech, Swift thanked Kelce for being supportive. About him she said: “Something that I’ll always remember is that when I would finish a take and I’d say ‘Cut,’ and we’d be done with that take, I would always just hear someone like, cheering, and like, ‘Woo!’ Like from across the studio where we were shooting it and that one person was my boyfriend Travis.”

2025 – A quieter relationship with lots of love
2025 kicked off with a bang for the couple as Kelce’s team secured its spot in the Super Bowl in January with a win against the Buffalo Bills. After the game, Swift ran onto the field to embrace and kiss Kelce.
At the biggest award show in music, the 2025 Grammys, Swift showed up in a stunning red dress and paid tribute to her boyfriend. On a red beaded garter belt, Swift wore the letter ‘T’ on her upper thigh. She didn’t confirm whether the chain was related to Kelce’s or her first name, but we’d assume it was a nod to him!
She supported Kelce at the Super Bowl in February, although his team lost. Following the Super Bowl, the couple were spotted together in Utah in March and later in Montana.
