It’s the news we’ve been dreaming of for almost 20 years.

But a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada will officially begin shooting later this year!

According to the Film and Television Industry Alliance, the movie is now in the pre-production phase, categorized as a feature film.

While specifics are still being finalized, filming is scheduled to begin on November 30 – though the locations for shooting have yet to be confirmed.

The second film will once again star Meryl Streep in her Oscar-nominated role as the dragon-like fashion editor Miranda Priestly, and Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs.

Emily Blunt (aka Emily Charltan) and Stanley Tucci (Nigel Kipling) are also set to return.

While the script is being kept under wraps, the sequel will reportedly focus on Miranda Priestly approaching the end of her career.

According to early plot details, Miranda faces the decline of traditional print magazines – and will compete with her former assistant Emily Charlton, who is now a powerful executive at a luxury fashion group.

Exploring the shifting landscape of the fashion industry, the two will clash as they try to get their mitts on critical advertising money.

David Frankel, who directed the 2006 movie, will return to helm the sequel, while Wendy Finerman will once again produce.

‘What sequel?’ jokes Blunt

Sneaky Hathaway, 41, denied rumors of a sequel earlier this year.

In an interview with V magazine, the actor said the project would “probably not” be happening.

“We all love each other and if somebody could come up with a way to do it, I think we’d all be crazy not to,” she explained. “But there’s a huge difference in the world now with technology, and one of the things about that particular story is it was about producing a physical object.

“Now with so much being digital, it would just be very different. Maybe me, Stanley, Emily, Meryl, Dave Frankel, Patricia Field…we should just all do something else together. That’d be fun.”

However, more recently, Blunt, also 41, teased the sequel to fans.

Speaking to People at the American Institute for Stuttering’s Annual Gala, she feigned ignorance, jokingly asking, “What sequel?” before adding, “Oh my god, I can’t tell you anything!”

The actor then recalled her character’s iconic eye makeup and made light of her character’s memorable line about losing weight due to stomach flu in preparation for Paris Fashion Week.

“I’ve gotta get a stomach flu and some eye makeup in there. I’m hoping for that!” she said, teasing fans about what could be in store for her return to the role.
