With just over a month until the second season is released, the names of the characters from The Last of Us Part II video game being brought to life have also been revealed.

The Last of Us Video game characters coming to live-action

Pantoliano, who portrayed Ralph Cifaretto in The Sopranos, is set to play Eugene, a minor character from the video game who gamers only catch a glimpse of when he appears in a photograph. The show is taking the opportunity to expand the character. “The game has so many little flourishes,” said Craig Mazin, the show’s co-executive producer with Neil Druckmann. “You find notes that have their own little story to them”. Druckman added ““I get excited when I see these opportunities. I’m like, ‘Oh, I don’t know Eugene that well!’ The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial.”

Burke and Lamanna are also playing characters that originated in the game. Burke, who played RoboCop in the franchise’s third instalment, plays Seth, who runs a bar in the Jackson, Wyoming community. He is a husband and father of three sons. Lamanna, who previously guested in The Umbrella Academy, takes on the role of Ellie’s ex, tattoo artist Kat. They dated before the events of Part II.
