They first became parents two years ago.

But now Tom Payne and his wife Jenna Akerman have scored a hat-trick – and welcomed twins together.

The Walking Dead star, 41, announced the sweet news via a statement to People magazine last week, and revealed, “We are overjoyed to share the news that on April 1st, 2024, we welcomed twins into our family! An entirely unexpected and wonderful surprise.

“[Our son] Harrison is over the moon to have not one but two new siblings.

“Jennifer and I have joked that he had something to do with this because there’s nothing he likes more than a house full of people.”

As if they didn’t have enough on their plates, the couple have also decided to launch their own podcast, California Dreaming, to discuss the happy news.

“Tune in to @CaliforniaDreamingPod to hear the exact moment we found out we were having twins! We were both very surprised to say the least,” wrote Payne. “We’ll be releasing a new episode every Wednesday where you can hear exactly how our new normal is going and how we’re making it work as a family of 5 in the Hollywood Hills.”

Prior to welcoming their new arrivals, Akerman gave birth to their first son, Harrison Magnus Austin Payne, in January 2022. British actor Payne – who shot to fame when he starred as Paul ‘Jesus’ Rovia in The Walking Dead, and went on to play Malcolm Bright in The Prodigal Son – popped the question to Akerman in 2018 after five years of dating, and the pair married in December 2020.

They went on to have a second ceremony in April 2022, to make up for the smaller wedding they had been forced to have due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
