- Records have revealed how big the late One Direction star’s estate was
- He hadn’t made a will
- Former partner Cheryl Tweedy is managing his estate

Liam Payne left behind a fortune of £24million ($32million) when he died last year, according to official records.
This encompasses the value of the money, property and possessions he had. The singer died in October at the age of 31 after falling from the balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Payne hadn’t left a will and usually, in this case, any children would inherit the estate if they don’t have a living spouse. He has an eight-year-old son Bear, who he shares with former partner Cheryl Tweedy.
Tweedy – Payne’s partner between 2016 and 2018 – is one of the administrators of his estate, along with music industry lawyer Richard Bray. It is their job to manage the money but they cannot distribute it. Chances are, the money will eventually pass to Bear when he is an adult.
What has happened since Payne’s death?

Five people were arrested and charged in connection to Payne’s death. Among them were Payne’s friend Roger Nores and two members of staff at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where he died. All three of them were exonerated of all charges earlier this year.

Payne’s girlfriend Kate Cassidy has also spoken about how his loss has affected her, saying she’s still struggling to accept his death.
In a rare interview a couple of months ago, she admitted that she had “better days” and “harder days”,. On her worst days, she could typically struggle “to get out of bed” in the morning.
“I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense … I don’t even feel the need to correct myself because that’s part of my healing journey,” Cassidy said. “I’m still working on accepting the fact that he’s not here anymore, so it’s hard for me to refer to him in the past tense.”
What about One Direction’s fanbase?

Payne’s death prompted an outpouring of shock and mourning among fans of the 2010s boyband.
When asked about the fan reaction, Cassidy said: “I’m getting so much support and love from the fans, and I know that’s what Liam would want. I understand that some of the more negative comments come from a place of love and concern, you know, caring for Liam. I understand that because I love Liam too.”
Cassidy admitted that she can’t listen to One Direction or Payne’s songs because it makes her “emotional”. She says she will be able to one day, but not yet.
She also said she was listening to his music to fall asleep during her grief, but she stopped because it didn’t help.
