- Football star Travis Kelce has announced that he is ‘looking for movie deals’
- The news came after he denied reports he had landed a role in the Happy Gilmore sequel
- But fans are worried that Kelce is ‘using’ girlfriend Taylor Swift for her fame

He’s the most talked about NFL star of the last year.
And now Travis Kelce’s career could reach new dizzying heights – as he says he’s interested in a career in cinema.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34 – who began dating pop superstar Taylor Swift, also 34, last July – announced the news on his podcast this week.
Speaking to his brother Jason, Kelce – who has filmed for Ryan Murphy’s new TV show, Grotesquerie – discussed rumors that he has landed a role in the Happy Gilmore sequel.
“Other than the movie is getting made, and I’m looking for movie deals — that’s about all they got [right],” Travis shared to the New Heights podcast.
He added that he “didn’t even know there was a job opening” for the newly announced sequel – but if there is, he’ll “be a f**king extra” or “anything” to star in an Adam Sandler movie.
“Count me in! Obviously, been a huge fan of the Sandman, but yes this is exactly what it says it is –– a conspiracy theory,” Kelce confirmed.
‘He’s using Taylor!’
While some were thrilled about Kelce’s potential career change, others were worried that he is using Swift’s fame to gain opportunities.
“He’s using Taylor for clout chasing,” one speculated, while another added, “Gotta cash in on that girlfriend while you can.”
Another harsh critic added, “He should stick with football he has no discernible talent.” Someone else slammed, “Celebrities lack any modesty. I mean take some acting classes before, then try movie deals. They don’t care about the quality of the movies at all.”
“It’s almost like he entered into a PR relationship to further his celebrity and be able to pivot after football…” another speculated.
While some fans may think the relationship is a “PR stunt”, Kelce and Swift have been going strong for almost a year now.
Their relationship came after the singer split from her partner of six years, British actor Joe Alwyn.
She later enjoyed a short fling with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy – which followers have speculated is the main source of inspiration for her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
