If we weren’t already excited enough for Happy Gilmore 2, anticipation has just gone up a notch with news that Travis Kelce will make an appearance in it.

Cameo wish

In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Adam Sandler confirmed that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end will make a cameo appearance in the much-anticipated sequel.

“We have a nice something for Travis,” Sandler said. “he’s gonna come by. Very nice guy, you guys would love him in real life. What a big handsome guy. Funny and cool as hell.”

This news is also wish fulfilment for Kelce, who recently revealed on his ‘New Heights’ podcast that he would like to get involved in the film.

However, Sandler didn’t reveal what Kelce’s role would entail in the film. But if it is anything like the cameos in the original film, expect something wild. One of Happy Gilmore’s most famous cameos was game show host Bob Barker, who played against his wholesome image by beating up Happy at a Pro-Am tournament.

Long-awaited sequel

The sequel is long-awaited as the original film was released in 1996. Happy Gilmore has become a cult classic for its mix of slapstick humor and wholesome heart. It told the story of Happy Gilmore, a washed-up hockey player with an anger problem, who turns to golf to help prevent his grandmother’s home from being foreclosed. Along the way, he becomes a sensation on the golf tour, and makes an enemy of the star player, Shooter McGavin.

Happy Gilmore 2 is set to start production next month in New Jersey and is likely to arrive in theaters sometime in 2026.
