Grand Theft Auto Fans have another reason to worry about- the Trump Presidency could delay GTA 6, a long-awaited game.
Trump’s Presidency Sparks Doubts
Recently, on November 6 Take-Two Interactive- Rockstar Games’ parent company confirmed during the Q2 2025 earnings call that GTA 6 will be released in Fall 2025. Upon hearing this news fans have been excited since, that after a decade of anticipation, the game is finally in sight.
Now after the presidential elections, some individuals are voicing concerns online- building up fear of delay among the community.The worries largely stem from two things.
First, back in 2018, Dan Houser- co-founder of Rockstar Games, expressed that due to extreme politics during the Trump presidency, it’s not possible to launch the game, GameRant reports.
Although Houser is no longer with Rockstar, his comment has lingered with fans, adding a bit of unease to the current release window. Second, a new factor- project 2025- is worsening the already existing fans’ anxieties.
This project is driven by the conservative Heritage Foundation which supports media control and censorship- hinting that it can impact violent games like GTA 6- known for the shootings, use of guns in the open world, and more aggressive content.
While Trump hasn’t shown any interest in this initiative, fans remember his criticism of violent games, making players think that he might support the Heritage Foundation.
Rumors and Reality: Will GTA 6 Face Delays?
But for the sake of relief, these are just rumors and for now, Rockstar’s release timeline remains on track. In reality, if GTA 6 gets delayed, it’s likely because Rockstar usually takes extra time to finish their games as the developers demand perfection.
Despite the apprehension is justified by the gaming community must only rely on official statements to prevent unwelcoming worries. While counting down the days for the new game, players can still enjoy the GTA 5 online mode– a lot of amazing updates are on the way.
