A woman in the US has gone viral globally with her story about how she found out the man she married was a liar – and that almost none of what he told her about him was true.

In ‘Who TF did I marry?’ a 50-part video series on TikTok, Reesa Teesa has gripped audiences as she reveals how a “pathological liar” – who she refers to only as Legion – allegedly conned her into a relationship.

The pair first met on a dating site in 2020 and hit it off instantly. The pair moved in together soon after due to the COVID pandemic. Legion then said they could buy a house as he had money in an offshore bank account.

Legion also promised Reesa luxury holidays, but none of these came to pass – there would always be something that cropped up to scupper their plans. As this went on, Reesa became more suspicious and she started investigating.

Legion had claimed he was the vice president of a condiment company, but Reesa gradually uncovered faked documents and phone calls to discover that he wasn’t a wealthy executive, but instead a forklift truck driver with no money to his name. It was all lies.

Understandably, Reesa filed for divorce and then decided to share her story through a series of TikTok videos. In all, the videos run to more than seven hours – the length is testament to the twists and turns that the story goes through.

The series blew up quickly around the world and Reesa now has more than two million followers, many of which have done so after she posted her first video on February 15, and the videos have racked up more than 150 million views at the time of writing.

But with the videos going global and doing such numbers, it does mean there is some compensation for Reesa – they are thought to have earned her a tidy sum through TikTok’s Creativity Programme so now she might be able to treat herself to that luxury holiday that Legion couldn’t deliver.
