- In season 1 of Wednesday, he played Xavier Thorpe
- Following some damaging allegations, he did not return for Wednesday season 2

Well, Percy Hynes White is officially not back for Wednesday season 2. We already knew this, but with the release of the new trailer, it is cemented. White, 23, played the charming Xaiver Thorpe on the show, a rebel artist who strikes up a connection with Wednesday. He was a fan favorite character, but following the show’s airing on Netflix in November 2022, allegations came out about the actor.

In January 2023, some damaging allegations surfaced about White on X. At the time, Wednesday had just been renewed for season 2. Although he denied the allegations, White was subsequently written out of the show.
He confirmed his exit from the comedy horror series in May 2024, when season 2 began production.
On his Instagram Stories, he wrote, “I had so much fun working on this show. Much love,” which sent fans into a frenzy.
But there is a deeper story behind White’s exit from the Netflix hit, and the reactions. See why he was dropped from one of Netflix’s most popular shows.
Why did Percy Hynes White leave before Wednesday season 2?

In January 2023, allegations surfaced on Twitter (now X) that accused White of sexual misconduct. The viral X post alleged that White had assaulted the user at a Toronto house party (which he was supposedly known to throw).
Other allegations said White and his friends threw these parties to get girls they deemed hot to come over and get them high or drunk to lower their inhibitions so they could have intercourse.
Additionally, the user says he did this with one of their friends and that he has existing allegations of rape against him and continued to do this with the friend who at one point was 16 and he was 20.

Calls from fans begged Netflix to remove him from the show, which did happen. Five months later, in June, he released a statement on Instagram defending himself from the allegations.
Netflix did not directly address allegations against him.
What did Percy Hynes White say before Wednesday season 2?
He responded in an Instagram story. “Earlier this year, somebody I’ve never met started a campaign of misinformation about me online. Because of this, my family has been doxxed, and my friends have received death threats,” he began.
Continuing, he said, “Underage photos of me were used, and examples of me acting in character were presented as hateful. My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim, and her attempts to set the record straight have been ignored. She gave me permission to include her in this message.”
He went on to say he couldn’t stand and let people paint him out to be a bigot or someone who would do those things. Regarding the allegations, he said they were “misinformation”. Also, he thanked those people who were by his side and those who read his message.
What happened after the allegations?
Subsequently, he was written out of the Wednesday season 2. In September 2023, reports allege that he was written out of the show over the allegations. Despite no trial occurring, an alleged source close to the family confirmed his exit to The Daily Mail.
“Percy is a wonderful young man, that’s the truth,” the source told the tabloid.
Continuing, they said, “He never took part in any of the false claims against him, which were on Twitter and never followed up or substantiated.”
The source blasted Netflix and said, “For Netflix to drop him from the show is a disgrace. It was just false rumours. It’s just not right.”
Joel Thomas Hynes, Hynes’ father, 49, and Hynes’ mother, Sherry White, 54, supported their son amid the allegations.
As we said, months later in 2024, White confirmed his exit.
So…where is he now?

White has stayed active online. He has 30 posts on his Instagram, the most recent from October 2024. Weirdly, he has also kept his Instagram highlight for Wednesday, which surprised some fans.
The 23-year-old has been acting since Wednesday. He started in a short called Night For Night in 2023 and notably, a coming-of-age film, My Old A**, which stars Aubrey Plaza and Maisy Stella.
In 2024, his film with Wednesday co-star Jenna Ortega, Winter Spring Summer or Fall, was released, which reignited people’s thoughts about White. However, the movie was filmed in the fall of 2022, before the allegations came out.
White is still acting. He is starring in the horror film Whistle and in an adaptation of the war film Armstrong’s War, where he will play a Canadian soldier.
Was he ever charged with any crime?
No, White was never formally charged with a crime. This has made some Wednesday fans conflicted, while others have argued that the right thing happened.
Wednesday season 2 is coming to Netflix in August 2025.
