Lady Gaga is in Wednesday as a small role.

Gaga’s recent focus has been primarily on her new studio album Mayhem, which was released on 7 March. But in early March 2025 an interview with Entertainment Weekly, she spoke about working with Ortega on Wednesday season 2.

The pop star said: “I don’t want to give away anything about being part of the show. I want to keep it extra secret — but, I love Jenna, and I really had an amazing time!”

The connection between Gaga and Ortega existed long before she was on the show. In 2022 when the Wednesday dance went viral to the original song Goo Goo Muck, fans recreated with Lady Gaga’s song Bloody Mary. This version of the dance to Gaga’s song became more popular than the original!

Jenna Ortega and Lady Gaga: What did Ortega say?

In an interview with IndieWire at SXSW, Ortega gushed over working with Gaga in season 2. The Wednesday star told the outlet: “It’s the best. She’s the best, definitely one of the most talented individuals I’ve ever worked with.”

The 22-year-old also gushed about working with director Tim Burton, best known for creating Beetlejuice and the sequel that Ortega starred in and Edward Scissorhands. She continued, “It was just a really, really special environment to be there with her and Tim Burton, two people that I respect and have been inspired by so much.”

When meeting Gaga, Ortega said that the actress and singer was not what she expected. She labeled Gaga a “sweetheart” and remarked she did not think she would be “reserved.” However, she did say that you can “always expect kindness and generosity” from her.

When asked if she and Gaga spoke about the Bloody Mary moment, Ortega couldn’t recall, but she didn’t seem to think so! The focus at the time, she said, was on how they were “so lucky” to have Gaga come onto the show so they didn’t talk about that.

How sweet.

Stay tuned for more updates on Wednesday season 2 as it draws closer!
