Who is Thanos in Squid Game?

This purple-haired rebel crosses paths with our hero Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) after he re-enters the Squid Game. He’s back in an attempt to change the worldview of its players. However, Thanos quickly disrupts things with his constant drug-taking and unpredictable attitude to Squid Game’s various deadly challenges.

Behind the camera, Thanos is better known as T.O.P, a singer who shot to fame with the South Korean pop band BigBang. After a successful solo career, T.O.P – real name Seung-hyun – dipped his toes into acting before a marijuana scandal forced him to hit pause on his career aspirations.

What movies and TV shows has T.O.P been in?

While he may be best known for causing Gi-hun headaches in Squid Game season 2, K-pop star T.O.P has starred in a number of small-screen series and TV shows.
He made his acting debut in 2007’s I Am Sam. This TV series was about a sensible high-school teacher who becomes a tutor for the daughter of a notorious gangster. Seung-hyun appeared as a top fighter known as Chae Moo-shin.
In 2009, T.O.P made his movie debut in the crime drama Nineteen where he played Seo Jung-hoon, a teenager who i forced to go on the run with his girlfriend after they’re accused of the death of a fellow student. The same year, the star appeared in South Korean TV drama Iris where he played a mysterious assasin known as Vick.
In 2010, he returned to movie, starring as Oh Jang-beom in Korean War drama 71-Into The Fire. He also appeared in the TV show Haru as himself in a cameo. In 2011, he reprised his role of Vick in Iris: The Movie before taking the lead role in 2013’s action film Commitment.
T.O.P film and TV roles
T.O.P continued his big screen success in 2014’s gambling-themed crime movie Tazza: The Hidden Card in which he played Ham Dae-gil, a man set up when a deal goes wrong.
He returned to TV screens in 2015’s romantic drama Secret Message where he played a character named Woo-hyun. However, by 2016 he was back on the big screen telling the story of his K-pop success in the documentary Big Bang Made. In 2017, he played an Interpol agent who’s pulled into a new case with his estranged ex-fiancée.
