Little House on The Prairie is coming back to our screens.
Netflix has announced that it is making another series based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books.
The NBC show, which ran from 1974 to 1983, was produced by Ed Friendly. His son Trip is bringing the streaming service version to life.

“It has been a long-held dream of mine to carry on my father’s legacy and adapt Wilder’s classic American stories for a 21st-century audience in a way that brings together fans of both the books and the original television series,” he told Deadline.

What was Little House on The Prairie about?
Loosely based on the series of books published in the 30s and 40s, Little House on The Prairie followed the Ingalls family, made up of Pa, Ma, and their children Mary, Laura and Carrie.

All the drama centred on their farm life and the wider community of the town of Plum Creek during America’s Pioneer era.
Who made up the cast?
Michael Landon took on the role of patriarch Charles, while Karen Grassie played his wife, Caroline.

Laura was taken on by Melissa Gilbert. Her sisters, Mary and Carrie, were brought to life by Melissa Sue Anderson and Lindsay Sidney Greenbush.

Katherine McGregor, Richard Bull and Victor French all had roles as Harriet Oleson, Nels Oleson and Isaiah Edwards.
