“Ms Little and Mr Large”. That was one of the many jokes hitting the socials this week featuring an old viral photo of NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal (Shaq) and Olympic gymnastics champion Simone Biles.
The shot of the two shared on Twitter by Biles back in 2017, showed the pair at a Super Bowl events. Simone barely even stood above the waist of Shaq. And it looks like the gymnast was wearing heels in the photo to reach even that height.
After it was reissued by Shaq, the picture quickly blew up into a thousand memes this week. Olympics fans loved the idea of Shaq, with his larger-than-life personality, bringing light-hearted fun to the often intense atmosphere of the Olympic Games.
Well known for his love of dad jokery, Shaq was given a host of meme one-liners: “Shaq may be big, but his dad jokes are even bigger” and “Simone may have taken home the gold, but Shaq took home the dad joke crown.”
One social commentator quipped: “On a gymnastics floor, Simone Biles has jumped up to 12 feet, which means she could jump over Shaq. Mind blown.”
