The first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are now available but when will there be a season 2? The good news is than fans won’t have too long to wait.

Finally, the anticipation is over for Daredevil fans, as the first two episodes of Daredevil: Born Again drop on Disney+. The series, which follows the adventures of Matt Murdock – by day a visually-impaired lawyer, by night the vigilante known as Daredevil – is a continuation of the series Daredevil, which aired on Netflix some years ago.

It seems the hype surrounding the new show is justified, as the critics reviews of Daredevil: Born Again have, so far, been largely positive – with one saying they were annoyed that they have to wait for more.

No long wait for Daredevil: Born Again s2

But how long will the wait be for more Daredevil: Born Again? Thankfully it appears that it won’t be too long – well, by premium streaming series standards anyway. The plan is for season 2 of the show to drop sometime in the Spring or Summer of next year.

Back in January, Charlie Cox, who stars as the titular hero, confirmed in an appearance at FAN EXPO San Francisco (via ComicBookMovie), he said that filming on the next season will begin imminently.

“By the time we release [Daredevil: Born Again] on March 4th, we’ll already by shooting season 2,” he said. “So it’s just a gift that keeps on giving, really.”

This will be a relief to fans, given that a two-to-three year wait between seasons of high profile shows on streaming platforms appears to be becoming the norm – were looking at you, Stranger Things.

However, as yet, no release date has been confirmed by Disney+.

The Punisher one-shot

Fans will also have a Punisher one-shot to look forward to, which will come before season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again makes it to air. Jon Bernthal, who plays vigilante Frank Castle/The Punisher in the show, confirmed recently the one-off special is coming. Bernthal is also co-writing the special.

The special has “all the pathos and emotion you want out of a Frank Castle story,” according to Brad Winterbaum, Marvel’s head of TV.

However, there has been no confirmation of when the special will go out.
