Who is BB Urich in Daredevil: Born Again and is she related to Ben Urich?
Marvel’s sight-impaired night stalker has only recently returned to screens but fans are already delving into his latest storyline.
After a lengthy wait, Daredevil: Born Again finally made it onto Disney+ on Tuesday 4 March, launching with two episodes that acted as a double-punch debut for this much-loved character.

The series picks up some time after we last saw Matt Murdock AKA the sight-impaired superhero Daredevil. Having hung up his iconic red cowl for over a year, Murdock is forced to return as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen when his brutal nemesis Wilson Fisk AKA Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) is elected mayor of New York City.
That’s the elevator pitch that propels the action of this already-well-reviewed new series. However, it’s the show’s new characters that have really caught the attention of fans.

One new character in particular has got people talking – and that’s a wiley new investigative journalist named BB Ulrich. Who is she and is she related to anyone we’ve seen before?

Who is BB Urich in Daredevil: Born Again?
BB Urich is a new character that made her debut in Daredevil: Born Again. She is an investigative journalist that works for the New York Bulletin and is played by actress Genneya Walton.
She shares a name with Ben Urich, a character that we’ve seen previously in the Daredevil’s live-action world, played by actor Vondie Curtis-hall. The pair’s shared surname has fans wondering whether they’re related.
While we’re only a few episodes into Daredevil: Born Again, BB Urich has so far been seen interviewing various people connected to New York’s rising crime wave. These include Fisk, someone integral to the fate of Ben Urich. In fact, she seems to have an intense interest in Kingpin, sharing her interviews across her social media channels.
Who is Ben Urich in Daredevil?
Ben Urich was also an investigative journalist who also worked for the New York Bulletin. He also specialised in exposing the criminals of New York City and ensuring high-level gangsters found their way behind bars.
His dedication to this cause brought him in close proximity to Fisk, who – spoilers – ultimately killed him by strangulation.
The surname connection has led many to believe that BB could be related to Ben and potentially be his niece. It also seems she is determined to finish Ben’s work and bring Kingpin down.
