Earlier this week, we learned Jillian Lauren Shriner, wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, was shot by Los Angeles police.
The incident occurred after authorities were trying to track down hit-and-run suspects. They were believed to have fled the scene of a car crash.

The circumstances surrounding this event were detailed in an official press statement issued by Los Angeles Police Department.
California Highway Patrol tracked three hit-and-run suspects to a residential neighbourhood in the Eagle Rock area of Los Angeles.
After entering a residence, officers “observed a female, later identified as 51-year-old Jillian Shriner, in the yard of a neighbouring residence armed with a handgun.”

The same report claims officers asked Shriner to drop the weapon “numerous times.” It continues, adding that “Shriner then pointed the handgun at the officers and an Officer-Involved shooting occurred.”
After a brief period, Shriner eventually surrendered to police where she was detained with non life threatening injuries. She has since been accused of attempted murder.

Jillian Lauren Shriner: Who is she?
Jillian Lauren Shriner is an American writer, journalist and performer, originally from New Jersey.
After studying acting at New York University, she turned her attention to becoming an author and has since released a number of bestselling books.
These include 2010’s Some Girls: My Life in a Harem which was based on her time spent living with Prince Jefri Bolkiah, the brother of the Sultan of Brunei.
As her website explains, “leaving behind her gritty East Village apartment for an opulent palace where she walked on rugs laced with gold, Jillian traded her band of artist friends for a coterie of backstabbing beauties.”
Other of Lauren’s releases include the 2011 fiction novel Pretty about a woman escaping chaos and the 2015 memoir Everything You Ever Wanted, chronicling elements of her life as the husband to a rock star.
Her most recent release is 2023’s Behold The Monster: Facing America’s Most Prolific Serial Killer, which includes interviews with the murderer Samuel Little.
