The dust’s only just settled on this year’s Golden Globes, but producers already have an eye to next year.

The success of the ceremony can live or die with who is chosen to host. It’s usually the job of a comedian, but if the jokes don’t land, it’s hardly a good look. Jo Koy’s turn hosting last year, for example, was received especially poorly.
Nikki Glaser made history this year as the first female solo host of the ceremony. Plenty of her jokes did the rounds on social media afterwards and some suggested she’d been the best Globes host since Ricky Gervais, who last hosted in 2020.
Could Nikki Glaser come back next year?
Reports have already emerged that producers are hoping Glaser will host again in 2026.
“We absolutely had a great experience with her, and think that she would be great at this in the long term,” executive producer Glenn Weiss told Variety.
“I can’t talk officially for anything. I will say, as someone who produces and directs award shows, she really found her niche here, and I think it really worked out beautifully on this show. And I would love to see it continue.”
It has been suggested that Glaser was already contracted to do another year hosting the Golden Globes if her first outing went well.
The awards have occasionally brought back pasts hosts for another round. Notably, Gervais hosted five times between 2010 and 2020. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted three years in a row between 2012 and 2014 and later returned in 2021.
What happened at this year’s ceremony?
Glaser’s comedic interludes were just one highlight of this year’s ceremony.
Another of these was Demi Moore’s emotional speech as she won her first ever acting award for her performance in acclaimed body horror The Substance.
“Thirty years ago I had a producer tell me that I was a ‘popcorn actress’. And, at that time, I made that mean that this [award] wasn’t something that I was allowed to have. I could make movies that were successful and made a lot of money, but I couldn’t be acknowledged, and I bought in and I believed that,” she admitted.
Meanwhile, Jeremy Strong drew attention for his unusual outfit, consisting of a turquoise velvet suit and a matching bucket hat.
