- Cynthia Eviro and Ariana Grande have raised eyebrows doing Wicked press
- It has been filled with tears and odd moments
- Wicked is currently in cinemas all over the world

Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s conduct on the Wicked press tour has probably been one of the strangest showbiz moments in a long time.
The pair, who are playing Glinda and Elphaba respectively, have got tongues wagging about all their interview moments.
Perhaps it can be explained by how much they have wanted this. Wicked, a prequel to L. Frank Baum’s The Wizard of Oz is one of the most hotly anticipated cinema releases of the year.

The Stephen Schwartz musical debuted on Broadway in 2003 with Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth. Based on the book by Gregory Maguire, a movie adaptation has been in discussion for a long time.
Wicked: Part One, which also stars Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, is currently in theatres now.
How they got matching tattoos after bonding on the set of Wicked
While on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Grande and Erivo revealed they had bonded so much on the set of the Jon M. Chu-helmed picture they had got matching tattoos. The pair quickly showed Clarkson their various inks which included a heart on the backs of their legs and poppies on their arms.
When they revealed they got SECRET matching tattoos
Grande and Eviro’s friendship tattoos might have become part of the public spectacle but they managed to keep one just for themselves. They told The Today Show they both shared a tattoo that wasn’t going to disclose where or what it was.
The constant crying in interviews
One of the more alarming things about the Wicked press tour is all the waterworks.
Jake’s Takes’ host Jake Hamilton, referencing the show’s finale song, asked them how they had been changed by working together. Immediately, Grande got teary, peering over to her co-star.
The moment sprung into a meme, prompting much online speculation as to why the duo were being so OTT. As it turns out, tears have impacted many of their interviews.
When chatting with Entertainment Tonight at one of the movie’s many glittering premieres, they were asked why it was so emotional.
Eviro responded, “We are really sorry. It just happens. We can’t help it. We’re trying our best. We’ve had to keep this in for so long.”
When they found out Wicked fans were ‘holding space for Defying Gravity’
One of the most talked about moments (mainly for how funny and strange and all the other things it was) happened while they were talking to Out magazine. Here, journalist Tracey Gilcrest mentioned how fans were really bonding with one of the musical’s most famous songs.
She told Grande and Eviro, “This week people are taking the lyrics of Defying Gravity and really holding space with that, and feeling power in that.”
In response, Eviro put her hand to her chest, her face visibly touched, and said, “I didn’t know that was happening.”

“I’ve seen it yeah, yeah,” Gilcrest replied.
“That’s really powerful, that’s what I wanted. I didn’t know that was happening,” Eviro said, looking full of emotion. She turned to Grande, who reached for her hand but grabbed her index finger.
Gilcrest continued, “I’ve seen it on a couple of posts, I don’t know how widespread it is. But I’m in queer media so…”
Naturally, the Internet loved it.
