Here’s one for all you petrolheads – there is a mansion available to rent on Airbnb that comes with its own racetrack and go-karts.
Known as the Drift House – or Little Talladega, to give it its official name – is a racer’s dream. Not only is there the racetrack – which goes around the mansion – but also acres of dirt tracks to speed around too (ATVs are included). Also supplied are electric drift karts, so you can go round the race sideways if you wish. There are also staff on-hand to aid or even provide a demonstration.
The Tuscan-style house in Pomona, Missouri, itself is huge: it has eight bedrooms, 14 beds – including race car beds (of course!) – and eight bathrooms. There is even a drive-in theater room complete with truck beds and movie projector.
But if you want more than racing facilities, then you won’t be disappointed either. In the grounds there are also tennis and basketball courts, a pool, hot tub, kids playground and a fishing pond.
Unsurprisingly, the house currently has a five-star ‘guest favorite’ rating on the Airbnb website. You can check the website for availability – and, perhaps surprisingly, there are slots available. While it isn’t cheap to rent, it is a holiday like no other.
This house is something that Airbnb is looking to offer more of in the coming years. The company recently announced its ‘Icons’ program, which will see guests able to book to stay in some iconic properties, including fictional ones, such as the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning from X-Men.
