- WWE 2K25 removes MyUniverse show intro cutscenes
- New features include intergender matches and Island mode
- Developers may bring back intros if player demand rises

WWE 2K25 developers have got mixed news for the fans, the game is set to bring the excited features and new content but it’s excluding one feature i.e., show intro cutscenes.
Farewell to Show Intros—For Now
While some players admire this, others have found it boring, leading developers to remove it completely for now. WWE 2K25 made tons of complaints regarding these intros, which included the banging scenes with fireworks, music, and thrilling openings that we get to see in real WWE.
However, players didn’t enjoy the it as much as they do while watching real-life wrestling on television and requested developers for its removal. In response to their request, this feature of MyUniverse mode has been removed and won’t be available this year in the game.
Visual Concepts developer Bryan Williams recently spoke about this decision in an interview with WrestleZone. He shared about team’s consideration regarding removing and bringing back certain features, highlighting that team has heard players feedback and worked accordingly to make game better and more enjoyable.
However, not everyone is pleased with the removal of the feature; many have expressed their disappointment on social media, Reddit, as they believe that these show intros were responsible for the mode’s authenticity and made it more realistic.
They put forward the interesting and workable suggestion that instead of removing the intros completely, it could be made optional; players who don’t like it could simply skip.
New Modes and Features to Look Forward To
Now, fans are hoping that this feature might return with the arrival of a new update or DLC. While the news about the intro scenes wasn’t pleasing at all, WWK 2K25 has new stirring content that players can look forward to.
These will include intergender matches; players can now have a fight between men and women; chain wrestling is also returning on fans’ requests; moreover, a new mode, The Island, is also making its way into the game.
The Island mode will let players explore different locations and challenge each other; Bryan mentioned during the interview that developers have focused on improving server stability, which will be essential for “heavy online mode” like this one.
Furthermore, Bryan stated that the promotion system in Universe Mode is also coming back for the first time since WWE 2K20, but this time, it will be enhanced. Now for the show intro cutscenes there is still hope, as according to developers they may add them again depending upon the players’ demand.
The game is launching on 14 March 2025, if they have to make changes there is enough time to do so.
