Xbox has stopped supporting the Xbox 360 Store for new purchases, including games, DLC, and entertainment content. In addition, the Microsoft Movies & TV app will no longer function on Xbox 360 consoles.
This marks the end of a significant chapter for the Xbox 360, which has been a pivotal platform since its launch 18 years ago. But players will still be able to enjoy their existing Xbox 360 games and downloadable content on their consoles, and can re-download previously purchased content if needed. Additionally, Xbox 360 games will remain accessible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility.
Despite these changes, multiplayer gaming and cloud saves will continue to be supported, provided publishers maintain online servers. Players can also purchase and play Xbox 360 and Original Xbox games that are backward-compatible on newer consoles and Xbox.com. Enhancements such as FPS Boost, Auto HDR, and faster loading times are available for Xbox 360 titles on Xbox Series X|S. For Microsoft Movies & TV content, users can view their purchased items on Windows devices, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, or use the Movies Anywhere app for streaming and downloads.
The Xbox 360 has been a cornerstone in the gaming industry, renowned for its innovative features and contributions to the evolution of gaming. Launched in 2005, it introduced robust online gaming with Xbox Live and downloadable content, expanding game lifespans. It also became an all-in-one entertainment hub with multimedia capabilities.

The Xbox 360 has been home to many iconic exclusive games such as “Halo 3,” which redefined first-person shooters, and “Gears of War,” known for its intense cover-based combat. “Forza Motorsport 3” set new standards in racing simulations, while “Fable II” captivated players with its rich storytelling and moral choices. These titles, among others, helped solidify the Xbox 360’s legacy in gaming history.
