- YouTube has dropped its Spotify Wrapped copycat
- It shows users their music and gaming habits
- It is available to look at now

YouTube Music subscribers no longer need to remain empty-handed on Spotify Wrapped Day.
The green streaming giant has become a trendsetter with its annual tradition. Since 2016, Spotify has made showing customers their listening data in cutesy infographics into a much-loved social media tradition.
Each year, people take to social media to exclaim how they look forward to it. While Spotify Wrapped 2024 is yet to be released, it typically lands on a Wednesday in late November.
In 2022, Apple followed suit with their Apple Music Replay, which has followed a similar release schedule. Now, it’s the Google-owned application’s turn to repackage your year into one single visual.
Is the YouTube gaming and music recap exactly like Spotify Wrapped?
Well, it shows people their top five artists of the year, along with their top songs of the year.
It also tells people exactly how many minutes they spent listening via the service. It will dive into people’s top podcasts and albums. Like Spotify, it will also take one word to sum up your listening habits. These range from “electronic”, “high key” or “brat” – the latter of which is a reference to Charli XCX’s summer smash LP of the same name.
How can I find my YouTube recap?
Regular users of the app can use their phones to find the goods. After you enter the app, hit the compass icon at the top of the screen. A column will appear on the top left. Following this, tap the ‘music’ button on the array of options.
It will then show you your saved music on YouTube and present you with a ‘Get your recap’ selection.
When did YouTube gaming and music recap debut?
The feature came ready for public consumption in November and was announced via social media.
“If you’ve listened to your favorite artists on YouTube or YouTube Music this year — on your phone, computer, or television — YouTubeMusicRecap 2024 is coming for you!,” the company wrote on Threads on November 18.
How do you find the gaming stats?
To suss out your gaming stats, go on to their app on the phone. After hitting the compass again, pick the “gaming” option alongside the “music” one. This will give you a chance to “get your recap”.
Just like the audio-only option, it will sum up your total minutes spent on games. It will also give you your top five.
YouTubers can also see how many people are engaged with their gaming content.
What else is included
As with Apple Music Replay and Spotify Wrapped, the feature also celebrates the artists who snagged all those listens. For example, Karol G racked up six billion listens on the app.
