2025 awards season kicked off with the Golden Globes in early January and it’s showing no sign of slowing. In fact, trophies will continue to be dished out until autumn, with a variety of events scheduled throughout the coming months.
The last 12 months have provided us with a wealth of content and some strong awards contenders. Spanish language drama Emilia Pérez has emerged from left field to sweep up a host of nominations for both the BAFTAs and the Oscars. Meanwhile, the religious story Conclave has gathered equal amounts of heat and is hot on its heels.

Could 2025 be the year that Timothée Chalamet takes home his first Oscar for his portrayal of a young Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown? Perhaps Brady Corbett’s historical epic The Brutalist could propel the director and his star Adrian Brody to awards season success?
Little is clear at this stage and answers are absent. We’ll have to wait for awards season to continue before we know who wins what. However, with so many different shows and nomination release dates on the horizon, it can be tricky to keep on top of everything.

The Golden Globes may be behind us but there are plenty more award shows on the horizon. The 97th Academy Awards may be the most prestigious and well-known upcoming ceremony but it’s far from the only one heading our way.
